One-take interview with author Tananarive Due
Tananarive Due shares what inspired her romantic thriller MY SOUL TO KEEP, the book that launched her African Immortals series and is in film development now. Wish I'd done another 3 minute interview and asked Tanana to tell you what it's like to hang out with Blair Underwood. If you don't yet know her fiction, her films, her life and relationship and writing coaching, you're in for a real treat. She was a favorite instructor at the 2014 Geneva Writers Conference, and her university and MFA students at Spelman and Antioch are a lucky bunch indeed.

Nancy Freund's book review BURYING THE TYPEWRITER by Carmen Bugan
What a privilege to meet Romanian writer Carmen Bugan and to read her important and astonishingly beautiful writing... We did back-to-back readings in December for the Geneva Writers Group, and she spoke that day of her father's solitary confinement under Ceausescu-- his 24/7 burden of 50 kg of chain, pacing his tiny cell, effectively "tilling the concrete." I was so moved by the idea of this, of his windowless room, and of his daughter's devotion to his work, and of his wife's ongoing devotion as well... that I had to read this memoir. It delivered so much more than I even expected.
